Itinerary

Itinerary
1:

DAY 1: CUSCO - MOLLEPATA - SORAYPAMPA.


We leave Cusco at 4:30 a.m., in a private company bus until we reach Mollepata (2900 masl), passing through Anta and Limatambo beforehand, we arrive at our destination around 07:30 a.m. where a 40-minute stop will be made In order to have breakfast which is not included, then we can organize our backpacks by separating the 5 kilos of our luggage for the horses, then we take a transport to the beginning of the trek, we start our walk for a time of approximately 02 hours until we reach Soraypampa ( 3900 masl) place of our lunch, after a rest in the afternoon we have the option of going up to the Humantay lagoon (4200 masl).After the visit of this beautiful lagoon, we return to the camp and there our cooks will wait for us with tea time and then a little rest before the corresponding dinner.

2:

DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA - HUAYRACMACHAY - COLLPAPAMPA


This day we get up very early with an awake coca tea that will be served in the store and after breakfast to start our walk, we have approximately 03 hours. of ascent from Soraypampa to the Salkantay pass (4,630msnm) the highest point of the entire route, during the ascent we will be able to appreciate the change of ecological floor from the Quechua zone to the puna zone, if the climate favors us we will see the majestic Apu Salkantay (6,271 masl) which is one of the most important mountains within the geography of the department of Cusco and one of the most important mountains within the Inka culture, after an explanation about the area by our specialized guide we will start with the descent to Huayracmachay (3900) where we will have lunch, After a well-deserved nap we will continue with the descent to the community of COLLPAPAMPA (2900) where we will spend the second night in this last part of the day we will appreciate the geographical change between the cold and dry area that we were in the previous days towards the humid area and tropical, we will also appreciate the change in the local flora and fauna we will be able to see different types of birds as well as different orchids, we will arrive at the camping point around 5:00 pm. Here you can take a hot shower (Optional with an extra cost of 10 soles). As the day before we will have tea time and then dinner and overnight.

3:

DAY 3: COLLPAPAMPA - SAHUAYACO - LUCMABAMBA


This day will be incomparable and unforgettable because during the walk we will be able to see a great variety of flora and fauna, starting from COLLPAPAMPA (2900 masl) our descent through the local vegetation, near the course of the Santa Teresa river, from where we can also observe various varieties of Orchids and large waterfalls, we will also feel the great climate change because this day we will enter the area called Ceja de Selva or Selva Alta, then we will arrive at Playa Sahuayaco (2060 masl) where we will have lunch made by our route cook, after After lunch we will take a local transport to the town of Lucmabamba where we will spend the third night, in the afternoon the passengers prior coordination with the guide will be able to visit the thermal baths of Cocalmayo (Optional cost)

4:

DAY 4: LUCMABAMBA - HYDROELECTRIC - AGUAS CALIENTES


Our walk starts very early towards Llactapata Inca archaeological site from where we will have the first view of Machupicchu in the distance, a journey of approximately 05 hours. towards hydroelectric, place where we will have to register to enter the historic sanctuary of Machupicchu and also our lunch place, after a rest we will go to Aguas Calientes or Machupicchu town, here we will spend the fourth night in a hostel with hot shower and wi- fi. Around 7:00 pm we will have dinner and final arrangements for the most important day of the tour, the visit to the sacred city of the Incas MACHUPICCHU !!!.

5:

DAY 5: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO


Very early (4:20 am approx.) We will start the ascent for an hour and a half of walk to the Inka citadel of Machupicchu and we will have a guided tour for 02 hours visiting the main buildings and important temples of this city, then they will have to return to the town of Aguas Calientes to be able to take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then the bus to the city of Cusco.
